All,

It seems that this topic comes up quite frequently. Makes me wonder if
anyone is having FUN contesting. If not, then why contest? I feel that
there is enough latitude and variety in categories in most contests that
almost anyone can participate to their level of enjoyment.

I feel the contest sponsors are doing a wonderful job to accommodate rather
than to restrict participation. So hats off to them. Those, such has Jim
have made their choice. That doesn't mean it is a choice that anyone else
has to make.

I started contesting in the mid-80's as a casual contester. I still am a
casual contester...and enjoy that style of contesting, but have also grown
some with the technologies available. For a while I use SCP and after a
while became proficient enough that I rarely use it anymore.

Anyway...the point is have FUN regardless of the category or set of tools
you use.
