Ed VE4EAR, has nicely made my case as to why its unfairly advantageous to be able to operate below the US subbands. To be clear, the current open letter is not attempting to change the rules. Its to see if the top contenders from VE will voluntarily even the contest mono - mono and take that unsurmountable advantage off the table. I personally have no issue with further west VE's taking advantage of that given advantage, however further west USA stations may have a different opinion.
