That's a huge exception you've carved out, Shelby. As a brand new member
of the W4AAW team, we could examine my motives:
1. The concept interests me technically; Mike's an extraordinarily
diligent and capable station builder, and I'm happy to work with the
team on issues that arise.
2. I've just moved into a new neighborhood, and I'm not eager to test
the subdivision's covenants, hence my current 100 watts to a Caroline
Windom. It's a lot more fun running 1500 watts into a variety of Yagis,
such as Mike has.
Come to think about it, isn't fun what it is really all about?

IMHO, with the exception of those living in antenna restricted communities,
or having other restrictions, I must disagree. As with most everything done
in a competitive environment, if it doesn't provide an advantage, why
bother? Whom, among us, doesn't believe that there is a geographical
advantage to live on/near the East coast, in DX contests?

All,
I can reliably state that Alex KU1CW is *NOT* in Kansas anymore. He has
been in W7 land for about three years now. I believe he is in the process
of moving from OR to WA, or vice versa..not sure which. He was formerly
active in KCCC.
His comments about KC on his QRZ page are historical in nature.

Yes, Alex lives in Kansas now. See his listing at QRZ (the "Detail"
page). Maybe he hasn't gotten around to updating his FCC address yet.
