John,

I would say there is a big difference between EU and US when it comes to
EMCOMM. Not at all the same focus on such communication here. For what
reason is interesting to understand, but it seems to me that you have your
hurricanes that require these kind of communication setups. Those weather
phenomenas are much more rare in Europe.

Our new hams originate due to other reasons - and there is not a clear
connection from where they appear. Many different reasons (I will come back
to that later).
