That does seem to be inconsistent; perhaps a revision to the rules might be in
order?
That being said, I was pleasantly surprised heading in to CQWW to see just how
easy it was to set up the ability to record the contest.

Someone submits their log 2 minutes or 2 weeks late, their score is still
listed in the results - in italics - and they are merely not eligible for
awards.
