This sounds like it could be a problem with slow disk access.

1.  Did you create a RAMDRIVE and then set the DVPPATH variable to point to 
the new drive?
2.  Are you using any kind of disk caching software like SMARTDRV?

If the answer to #1 and #2 is both NO, then try 1 first (2 is a good idea 
anyway) and see if the problem goes away.
