Trying to get NA to play with the new computer here and use all the bells
and whistles. So far it has been an excersie in frustration with all the
problems pointing to the NA software --- Please read this short tale of woe
and if you can offer any help I would sure appreciate it.
Rig = FT1000MP
Computer = Pentium 100 MHZ with 4 com ports all with different irqs.
Attempting to use pkt via com 3 and radio control via com 4.
Com 3 using IRQ 10
Com 3 works FB for packet in any terminal program settings 9600 baud, 8-N-1
Xon/Xoff.
Com 3 with NA (TNC set to local) baud rate, device and irq set in NA. No
receive of packets traffic at all. NA will send a packet and the packet is
properly interpreted at node (used A-B swtich between computer and terminal
to verify}.
Com 4 using IRQ11
Radio control works perfectly with WF1B's RTTY. Set up device (xcvr), baud
rate (4800) and IRQ 11 in NA and some of the functions such as alternate VFO
control work but you cannot change bands or modes. The direct entry
frequency control works (type in 14200 and radio switches to that freq) but
the system is unusable.
Unfortunately Com 1 is used for the mouse, Com 2 for external phone modem.
Unable to luse Bus Mouse due to limited ISA slots in Pentium.
Has anyone experienced similar difficulties, and if so how did you solve it.
Ideas welcome -- been using NA since Ver 6.?? really don't want to buy
something else.
