What is the projected income of BPL?

Ask the people who are proposing it - "to infinity and beyond"!

It will take years to break even, if they ever, I'd think, and it's not
like they have a head start. The fact that companies like Earthlink look
at this technology is maybe just to prevent possible future exclusion.
It's like car manufacturer's looking at renewable resource powered
engines. They just want to make sure they're there if something
interesting happens. Not only that. They may see this technology as a
vehicle to offer broadband services in countries where alternatives like
wireless, cable of fiber infrastructures are not available (yet).

In the latter case, you may wish to object against being used as lab rats for a technology that isn't needed in your own country.
