Look for the ones that are labeled as quiet.

One mfgrs rep told me that the cheap ones use
narrow contact strips on the sliders and they
get noisy quickly.

Others use electronics that are always noisy.

Be prepared to try a couple of the higher end
models that are labeled as rf quiet before you
find a good one.
