And it may also help if you can suggest to him a few of the things that
might cause it to have that symptom ... such as an arcing thermostat switch,
or something of that nature. Something that speaks to him in things he is
familiar with, knowing about wires and motors and switches, not radio
frequencies which most appliances don't use.
