I'd work at pinning it down more specifically using portable gear
before making enemies.
I've never heard a computer in those ranges, but I sure have heard the
network on 147.00.
Your problem *might* be coming from beyond them in that direction, or at
least you can hope so.
As to computers specifically, I've found the more powerful ones tend to
be the cleaner ones. It's the cheap PSupplies that make noise, but I've
never heard a 700 watt plus PS put out much hash unless something has
gone wrong with one of the rails or filtering. OTOH I'm not so sure
about peripherals and particularity those on USB.

I had never heard my own wired network on any of the rigs. Not enough to
break the squelch unless it was in an HT setting on the computer.
However, a few weeks back we were using 58 simplex for some tower work.
The network runs underground in PVC conduit within about 10' of the
tower base. It was totally wiping out the HTs. I didn't get a chance
to switch to the 440 band, but nada on HF.

Good Luck,

Roger (K8RI)
