I believe my problem is that the DSL signal is running through all of the
telephone company wiring in the house. As suggested by W2RU, I think if I put
the modem/router at the entrance and use a whole house filter the problem will
be solved. My other option is going back to cable modem.

Subject: Re: [RFI] DSL/Router Problems
Bill,
I would first try to isolate the problem. Try disconnecting the wireless
router from the DSL modem and connect ONE PC by a CAT 5 cable directly to the
DSL modem and repeat your 80 M high power test. This will eliminate the router
from the equation. If your internet connection to the single PC is unaffected
then the problem is likely with the wireless router or its connecting cables.
If the internet connection is lost while connected to only the DSL modem then
the problem is likely with the DSL modem or its connecting cables.
You said you "have put RF cores on all of the wires leading to the DSL box
and the router". Did you use an individual core on each wire (power
supply/wall wart, DSL cable from the wall, Ethernet patch cable to router)?
Did you wind several turns of each cable through the cores?
Please let the list know the results of your tests.

I've been having this problem since I moved to the new QTH. I use DSL and
a wireless router. The router is located in a separate part of the house.
Everything works fine until on 80 meters. Low power is no problem. Anything
over 100 watts and my telnet/internet connecting is lost. I can run a KW on
the other bands with no problem. I have put RF cores on all of the wires
leading to the DSL box and the router, still no success. I suspect that the
phone wiring that runs through the walls and in the attic, may be the culprit,
not sure. But just on 80 meters does this problem surface. Any ideas out
there????
