maybe I should change the subject line to doorbell transformer?
but I'll just leave it like it is for now
something new today
last night was the 1st rain, ~2 inches, in the last month
(if this had been powerline related it would have probably cured it,
at least for a day or so, it has with other such problems in the past,
not to mention this goes off with a breaker thrown in the house)
today was the 1st day in about 26 that we were under 100 degrees
only about 88 today,
not sure either thing rain/heat made any difference, just mentioning it.
the new something,
is today the noise started it's normal afternoon run ~12:56 cdt
*BUT* rather than stopping about an hour or so later
it is still going and it is now after 6pm
also I found I was able to talk to some folks on 80m
during our normal 3.825mhz sked @ 5pm
normally the noise isn't going then,
so I didn't know I could hear on 80m when the noise is going
noise floor on 80m S-8
when the noise is active S-meter still reads S8,
but I can see the noise on the pan adapter
but everywhere else, 40m -6m,
the noise is so loud I can't hear anything when it's going
Noise floor on these bands varies from S7-S2
but when the noise is active the S-meter reads S9+10
P.S.
I am still negotiating with the owner and electrician,
in the hopes I can get him to search for a doorbell transformer,
and either confirm it has no power,
or disconnect it if it does still have power to it.
The saga continues, the good news is at least I'm getting closer, lol.
