I found several sources that say it is discontinued, so I guess HRO
has a bunch of them they want gone. The receiver seems to get mixed
reviews (See eHam).

It states that model is discontinued. Either it is wrong, or you are
getting the end of the supply pipeline.
I have one, and they do work well for RFI hunting.
