Jim: I get the distinction between a lightning ground and an RF ground. In the case of an end-fed wire (that would be me) where a small portion of the antenna comes right into the shack, that seems the likely source of my ills (since the problem does not occur on all bands). What am I missing here? Every schematic I've seen of an end-fed wire shows a ground symbol at the tuner. As all my equipment chassis are connected (perhaps not "bonded") to a thick ground wire - that means the tuner is as well.
