I have a Carrier mini split about 30 foot from my tower and HF antenna
goes right beside it, and a Lennox cooling my shack with no problems out
of both of them. I was told they are both the same manufacture. Both
have variable fans both outside and inside.

Hi folks,
I’m in the final stages of building my new ham shack at a remote / tower
location and need to decide on the heating and air conditioning. It’s a
10x12 shack with ~12 feet high ceilings, so it’s a small space, but it
can get pretty hot up there in summer (sierra foothills of California).
I only have ~30 amps total available so will also need something efficient.
My contractor recommended a Fujitsu Mini-Split:

Has anyone had any experience with these types of units?
It seems to have a variable speed motor with “inverter technology” but
the HVAC company says it can be placed in a specific mode (low, med,
high) rather than auto where it will stay fixed.
Appreciate anyone's feedback/experience with this or any alternate units
to consider.
Thanks,
David K6ZD
