This has been debated a lot over the years and the majority of contesters agree.
AA5AU conducted a poll about a year ago and it was two to one in favor of a
separate category for two radio single ops. Some contest sponsors have added the
category but more need to follow. The Mexican RTTY contest is one and there is
another I can't remember right now.
The second radio is a huge advantage, much like adding an amplifier. Some people
want to run an amplifier and some don't. In the interest of fair competition
nearly all contest sponsors have a high and low power class, and the time is
overdue for a one and two radio class too.
