V15.45 4th July 2011
Rig Control - CW.
Updated SD's behaviour when changing mode to
CW, with rig control enabled. Thanks EI7GY.
When you change mode, from SSB to CW, on the
rig, the CW sideband remains at whatever it
was set to previously on the band concerned.
When you use SD to change mode to CW (with
the C command), the CW sideband is set to
your preferred option in SD.INI - as defined
by the CWREVERSE command when last used.
The RS command (Reverse Sideband) has been
introduced to instantly change CW sideband
- this is often faster than doing it on the
rig itself.
Why should anyone worry about reverse side-
band on CW? There are two reasons. The
first is to reduce QRM (it doesn't always
work), and the second is for consistency -
according to whether you're tuning up or
down the band.
Rig Control:
When enabled, and your rig is tuned to any
band not permitted in the contest concerned,
SD requests you to switch bands on the rig.
Allowable bands are defined by the MAXBAND
and MINBAND, or SINGLEBAND parameters in
each template. These parameters are not
required for any contest using all 6 HF
bands.
DXpedition and Special Event Option:
This is the only option for logging on the
WARC non-contest bands, and on 6 metres.
With recent versions of SD, when switching
to these bands, the cursor would not stay
in the callsign field until minus was
pressed. Fixed, thanks PA0JNH.

When you find bugs in SD, please post full details
to this mailing list. Older versions are not
supported, so you should first confirm that the
problem exists in V15.45.
Please let me know what you would like to see
changed or added.

Paul EI5DI
