One of my earlier post mentioned a QSK test consisting of sending a
string of dits at various speeds and having another station trying to
break in. There is an even easier way to perform this test.
In the evenings, tune in to a strong shortwave broadcast station so that
you hear the carrier tone at the pitch you normally copy cw with. Then
blast the them with a series of dits and see if you can hear the carrier
in between your dits. With a fast qsk rig, the carrier will sound almost
constant and start to break up as your speed is increased.
