Having the good fortune to pickup an Omni VI last weekend, I wonder
what factory upgrades are now available. I see the October issue of
CQ Contest features an Omni VI+ ad with the a blurb at the bottom of
the page about the 1, 2, and 3 options. I read the about options long ago
but can someone refresh my memory as to what you get for your $? Is
option 3 really discontinued?
All I can add to the talk about the Omni VI, is that I'm in seventh
heaven! My IC775 is oh so lonely since the Omni arrived. If you like
listening hour after hour with little fatigue, the Omni is for you!
The radio fits like a glove...and yes, it has its' glitches but it sure
makes you smile! This radio is just plain FUN to fire up! I use the
Heil element 5 desk mic and get glowing reports from the the grumpiest
of ham buddies on 75m...
Honestly, I don't know if I can part w/ the Omni VI long enough to get any
upgrades!
