Pete,
Yes, a couple of years ago, I replaced the backlight in a Delta II, if I =
remember correctly, it was a fairly painless operation.   Unsoldered the =
2 leads from the old one, slide it out, slide the new one in, resoldered =
it. In fact, I think I saw the old one the other day around here =
someplace....
