Hi Tony,

Thanks a lot.
I don't really know what I could tell you more. I keep my whole
correspondence
with ten-tec. Quite a brochure already...
Once, I had a serious problem with the control board. All the
display
went blinking or blank at all. The answer they faxed me was that I
should replace
the backup battery. First I had not one installed at all, second - it
could not make the
control work that way even if it was short-circuited. The reason I found
was
the fault in the RAM-ROM PCB.
When I had first problems with unequal output powers level in the
paragon,
I asked them for information on RF measurements in certain pointsof the
circuitry
as the datumn are not contained in the instruction.
I still keep the fax came to me a couple of weeks later. You should
see it !
The RF levels quoted there showed to me I was dealing with complete
ignorants,
I didn't tell them so then, I just asked for verification which never
did come.

Probably, I've made a basic mistake. Dealing with ten-tec, I asked
them to check
the paragon thoroughly before it was sold to me, because, as I stated
then, I was
going to use in a country where it would be a pretty exotic device,
drawing attention
in general, while all the eventual repairs might be really costly or
impossible at all.

Probably, they are still feeling safe they can draw their backs to
someone like me,
so far away. If so, they cannot see the obvious - the world in a process
of shrinking.
And, if so, how can they be reliable in the really spinning world of
electronics ?

Well, I don't know if anybody can help me, as I asked for it their
president
and the only effect was they found it's possible to manually operate
their fax
instead of mailing me their answers. No mentioning, they could never
reach me
with their e-mail .
Besides, one can get used to disability, only sometimes a pain
returns.
I've been using paragon with a home made tube amplifier and its original
PA detached.
A really bad dream.

I am living in a small town 20 miles south of Gdansk - Tczew. It
makes around 250
miles north of Warsaw

And that's all, for now at least.

Thanks again Tony. I really don't find it amusing - to fight the
windmills..

Yours,
Alec/SP2EWQ
