[TenTec] In praise of Scouts as mobile rig

Just saw some DX reports in recent archives on Scouts. Wanted to
add mine. I often work mobile with mine through a High Sierra
screwdriver-style antenna and weekend before last was out mobiling
and in a 15 minute space worked Greece and New Zealand on 15
meters. That was quite a treat.

Would appreciate comments from other mobileers on how to reduce
QRN, though. The NB does an admirable job, but is overwhelmed a
bit when I'm running from my old Land Cruiser. Already have
RF suppression plugs and wires, but seem to recall that there are
additional measures I can take to the charging system to reduce
the noise.

Casey
