I have rather elderly Argosy 525 which seems to have a rather high internal
noise floor - if I connect the rig to a dummy load and receive, I get strong
white noise (proportional to AF gain). It receives OK, although I think the
noise is strong enough to at least be objectionable, and probably mask some
of the weakest signals, particularly on higher bands. Has any sort of
modification been written that might address this, or should I just start
troubleshooting, or is this considered normal for this rig?
