***Ed: The PTO, being so close to the bottom panel since the rig is so
small, is subject to being shifted by abrupt "hits." Since it is a "fast"
freq change, the "AFC" doesn't move it back. Slow movements are kept on
the orig freq.
I have been using the Scout mobile for 6+ years now, (99% CW) and my best
advice is to pad the mounting arrangement you have....put plenty of
cushioning on the bottom and sides of your "holder," if you have one. If
you are using the flimsy mobile mount you will have difficulty keeping the
rig from moving when you hit a pothole. I tossed my mobile mount and just
mounted the rig in a wood console I built.
If you need to use the mobile mount, get some 1/8 inch aluminum and bend up
your own. It is much more stable than the thin steel thing they sell
you. This should make it fairly stable, depending on what the mount is
fastened to.
Keep the faith...it is a super rig for mobile.
