This reflector is the greatest!
The manufacturer's support line was useless. But, you folks had the
answer.
My Pegasus was being interrupted by random accesses to the hard drive
caused by the Fast Find program that comes with Microsoft Office. To
disable the program in Windows ME with Office XP is a bit tricky.
There is no Fast Find Icon on the Control Panel and no fastfind.exe on
the disk.
Thanks to John KE5C for the answer. You have to go Control Panel/Add-
Remove Programs and choose Office and use the wizard to go down the
list to Office Tools and choose fast index and select "Not Available".
That turns it off and now things are great. No more random disk drive
thrashing to interrupt a QSO.
