Briefly, "blow-by" is a term used to describe the effect of signal into a
filter leaking by means of parasitic coupling "around" the filter and
appearing at the filter output. Of course, we are concerned with signals
whose frequencies lie outside the filter passband.

Well-designed and implemented filter installations have a minimum of
blow-by. Others, well . . .
