Self-tapping screws...whoa

No doubt, self-tapping screws are a pain. But there is a solution.
Rescrewing self-tapping screws is not a problem. You put the screw in
the hole, put a little pressure on your screw driver and turn the
screwdriver counterclockwise until you hear a snap. When you hear the
snap, you know the threads are lined up. Start screwing clockwise and
you are "in the groove" and have not damaged or rendered the screw hole
useless. This is most important when the self-tapping screw goes into
plastic.
