There are several ways to cure microphone "bassiness." The simplest is
to back away from the microphone. That enhanced bassiness is why pop
singers swallow their hand microphone. Back off and it gets thinner.

You could add a series capacitor to reduce the output at low frequency,
e.g. make a coupling capacitor or two smaller in the microphone or the
radio. I have a Yaesu microphone that does that with a switch on the
back.

You could realign the radio with the BFO further from the edge of the
transmit filter, that would reduce the bass.

You could reduce the bassiness in your voice by speaking in falsetto
instead of those resounding announcer bass tones....
