Since the fundamental PTO range is 5 to 5.5 the odds of adding a
controllable 5 MHz output band without excess birdies are essentially
zero.
Outboard boxes might mix from some higher band but the PTO birdies will
probably still be there. Offsetting the band edge can keep the PTO
leakage from being on the received frequency, but there will be strong
possibilities of there being transmitter spurs to annoy other uses of
the band and adjacent frequencies. Lots of work in filtering and
shielding may make a 5 MHz transverter possible.
