OK, went and got one for $60. Small, light. Fan is not quiet. Handles
25 amps OK.
Nasty noises about every 100 KHz down on 80 meters, continues up through
40 meters and peters out in strength. I suspect (as advised by others
on this list) I can quiet it all down with some effort, but now I think
we get what we pay for in this instance.
It is certainly usable, does not make "hash" all over any frequency
range, but if you try to have a QSO on about 3810, you need signals well
over S9 to get over the power supply noise. And the noise gradually
moves in frequency.
That's my take on it.
