I haven't heard anyone here ever mention of the Orion tuning knob/s
concentricity, or lack of....

ir knobs have oversize holes and when tightened to the shaft are off
center. That is something mechanically simple, wonder how well the
craftsmanship is on the rest of their products?
** I have taken apart the Orion and I can tell you I am very impressed
with the mechanical work. I have never seen so many RF shielding covers
in any rig. All done very nicely. The mother/daughter board arrangement
is excellent. The use of encoders instead of pots for all the knobs (not
just the main tuning knob) says they will never get noisy.
