Speaking of slipsticks, a.k.a. slide rules...

Are you slide rule fans aware
of the very active
International Slide Rule Group?

  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sliderule/

On any given day on ebay there are
typically 400 slide rules for auction*.
I discovered that the K&E Decilon 6
that I had been carrying occasionally
usually sells for $150. I stopped
carrying it. I now carry a Pickett N600T
whichs sells for about $25, and use it.
I still like and use my HP calculators
and fancy digital gadgets, too.

For just one sample slide rule web site
check Slide Rule Universe.

The Hemmi 266 has L, C and resonant frequency
scales in addition to the normal C, D, A,
B, K, S, T, etc. scales, BTW.
Circular Smith Chart - slide rule combos
appear every so often.
(getting back on-topic)

Don't blame me if this becomes addictive. :)

* A simple ebay search for
  "slid* rul*"
will yield 3000 items of all kinds,
including radios with slide rule dials
bayonets, cameras, watches,....
(There are many ways to misspell
and mistype "slide rule" in auction titles.)
A search for something more specific like
"slid* rul* Pickett" gets this
list down to a more manageable size.
Adding terms to the search list
to exclude can eliminate most of
the trash, down to the 400 slide rules
and 400 other gadgets. I can send
the junk terms to exclude
if there is interest.
