Subject: [TenTec] the latest from AK7O and Orion

Messageafter taking radio and power supply and NEW 9 pin serial cable to
Mom's (across the street) i downloaded the latest update for the Orion from
RFSquared onto Mom's machine running Win98SE ...Update would not install so
i rebooted and tried again ...program again reported NO SERIAL
connection...so rebooted and tried Com2 again NO SERIAL connection...tried a
few more times after rebooting and either NO SERIAL or the other error
window ...

i am now convinced that there is something wrong with my Orion!

Howdy Jack:

I am running Windows ME on my Dell laptop and cannot download to either my
Orion or my ARGO V. I get a similar indication of not being able to talk to
my radio from the computer.

I took my ARGO V and Orion to my wife's Dell desktop computer running XP
home and both radios loaded up properly.

I have been told by TenTec techs that Windows ME stands for "misery edition"
and I am beginning to believe them:-)

The point of the above is that you might have a software conflict in your
computer program and that there might be nothing wrong with the Orion.

Hope you find your problem soon.
