Thanks again for the many continuing comments/
suggestions about my 160 antenna situation!

Last evening, I fired up on 1838 kHz. Using the
Palstar AT4K, was able to reach about 1.2:1 vswr
as read here in the "shack". I have not yet changed
the ladder line length as it was raining all through
last afternoon until it got dark.

Anyway, feeding only 100 watts out, made contact
with no problems to O'ahu (NH6XK and NH7FY) and
down to the Big Island of Hawaii with KH7T. This
was only just after 6 pm HST, the sun was just going
down (sunset now at 6:08 pm here on Kauai this week).
Heard no other signals on the band. We are going to
try again tonight, and I will use the linear to see if
anything will smoke, hi. Plan on trying at 7 pm HST
tonight (0500 UTC). Will use SSB if we hear no
other signals around 1838; if do, will use only CW.

73, Jim KH7M
