Stuart-Unfortunately, BPL is also being proposed for transmission lines. In
December, Amperion made a press announcement concerning their demo of
"multi-megabit" BPL over a 69 kV transmission line. The URL for this press
release is: http://www.amperion.com/press.asp?pid=89

Just correcting some misinformation: BPL is NOT being proposed for 56kV
power lines, (primaries) but neighborhood medium and low voltage AC lines of
120VAC/ 240VAC, direct to house connections. There is no way to put an RF
signal across the pair there in the proposed HF spectrum without wide spaced
lines radiating. They would use fiber or other means to bring the Broadband
to the power line neighborhood lines.
