Hello
Been off the list for awhile, but still been reading the archives. I have
went through several Ten Tecs in the past few years and im looking for
another. Im looking forward to the upcoming Sale at Ten Tec so I can make a
choice of a new rig. I have recently joined MARS and im a beginner CW
operator so please keep that in mind. I am looking at the following rigs in
this order Omni VI+, Omni VI (opt 3), Omni V and the Jupiter. I do not know
if any of these rigs will operate on MARS freqs, except the Jupiter. Can
anyone let me know if the other rigs can operate on MARS freqs? Also, I have
a new "All in one box" that gets most of my ham fun done, but it is not the
same on CW as the other Ten Tecs that I have had. Also, it can not get rid
of all the QRM and close local stations like I want and also it can not
handle contest conditions. Those of you who know me, know that I have wanted
a Contest Rig for several years, but have never made my mind up on one. With
the recent traffic on the list about the Omni's, I thought this would be a
good chance to ask the Pros these questions. Please help me choose a new
rig, that will be able to work MARS freqs, and be a very good cw contest
rig. Also, please let me know which filters are better in the Omni VI+ for
CW, the Inrads or Ten Tecs? I appreciate the bandwidth. 73 de ke4vpn
Thanks
Ronnie
