[TenTec] Switching PS info?

Greetings all,

I've been considering the possibility of picking up a switching power
supply for portable usewith the Scout etc. and wondered what experiences with 
such any of you on
the list havehad. Any comments pro/con on RFI, reliability, etc., are welcome, 
and if
the use of aswitcher is considered to be OK, which brands/models are preferable?
