I use an MFJ-4125 switcher. 25 amps and It fits in the palm of your hand,
weights about 3 lbs and so far I have heard no QRM from it. There is a tiny
fan inside to keep it cool but it's very quiet. Cheap too.

Greetings all,

I've been considering the possibility of picking up a switching power
supply for portable usewith the Scout etc. and wondered what experiences
with such any of you on
the list havehad. Any comments pro/con on RFI, reliability, etc., are
welcome, and if
the use of aswitcher is considered to be OK, which brands/models are
preferable?

TNX/73, Al
