Anything in life be it a spouse, a home, friends, or a rig is worth the wait
to get it right. At this time the Orion may be the rig for some, not all.
For me it is the rig. I enjoy very much the updates and even though it's
not wrapped with a bow, it is exciting and part of the wait. Just to have
someone listen to us is worth so much we have not had before with other
companies..still don't. The cost aside, would I buy another rig now and
replace the Ten-Tec Orion? No way.
If I have clicks I change the function that we all can agree causes it. If
I don't like the noise, I set the NR to some other parameter. If I need to
change the audio either receive or transmitted, I change the settings. If I
don't want to hear that loud signal 2 KHZ above me, I simply don't. If I
want to have good QSK, I turn it on and forget it. If I have problems with
the rig, I call Sevierville and get a live and caring person to talk with
me. If I want a new rig every now and then, I buy an Orion for there are
firmware downloads for free (representing our inputs). And finally if I
want the best receiver on the planet, I save to buy the Orion and don't look
back.
Choice is a wonderful thing isn't it?
