I hear ya John.

My slow retreat from analog rigs like the 756 proll and TS-850 began when I
bought the Jupiter......still have it......its the Orion backup. I still have
my TS-830S Gold Label, its kind of like a '49 Ford.......it stays in the garage
covered up and only used for special occasions.

You do know, that if you dont have the whole $3300 bucks for the Orion, that
TT will allow you to make payments.......thats how I got the
Jupiter........made 4 payments of $300. They charge you $80 for financing,
which isnt
bad.......considering I didnt have $1200 cash to give them. TT will do what
ever it
takes to put one of their rigs in your shack.

The Orion does have one hell of a receiver though.....man I like that
receiver.

I was just thinking, the IC-7800 weighs 50 pounds.......thats about $210.00 a
pound for an analog rig.
The Orion weighs 20 pounds and thats about $165.00 a pound for an SDR rig. I
cant afford Top Sirloin so I guess I'll stay with Round Steak.....and like it.

The IC-7800 guys are due to get their first software update in
September........this should be interesting. I hope everything goes well.
