Yes, after the heterodyne conversion from 9 MHz to 6.3 MHz, this is true.


but when the NAR button is pressed to enable this filter, the 2.4K filter is switched out of the pipeline and the NAR filter is used instead - is this correct?

No this is not correct. The standard 2.4 kHz filter is always in line for both TX and RX, except in FM mode. The narrow option 9 MHz IF filter is cascaded WITH the 2.4 kHz filter, NOT instead of it.
