Hello all,

I have a question about the TT Orion coupled with an Heil Goldline GM-4
studio microphone...

I bought a new and used Heil Goldline GM-4 studio mic from a fellow ham
complete with the CC-1 cable (originally wired for Kenwood 8 pins) and the
TB-1 table stand.

When I look at the Orion manual from proper microphone wiring, I see that :

Pin 1 is MIC
Pin 2 is GND
Pin 3 is PTT
Pin 4 is a +9VDC output

Well, on the CC-1 cable, I removed the 8 pins connector and took the 4 pins
connector supplied with the Orion...

Pin 1 is MIC = OKAY !
Pin 2 is GND = OKAY !
Pin 3 is PTT = 1 took one of the 2 wires coming from the microphone PTT
switch
Pin 4 is a +9VDC output = I leave this connection blank, of course !

So, the second PTT wire coming from the PTT swith of the microphone is in
connection with the body of the Orion thru the outer threaded part which is
locking the microphone once connected.

Is that correct or not ? If not, I have to buy the proper cable for Tentec
made by Heil... the CC-1-T.

Sometimes, I say "sometimes" not "everytime", when I push the PTT switch I
can hear an RF feedback into the headphones using the monitoring function...

Any advices are, of course, welcome !

Is there anyone using the same configuration ? Orion and Heil Goldline.

Thanks for support.

Eric, ON6CV.
