I find that optical isolation can be very helpful for
the Orion and other ham gear.  This protects against
RFI and lightning both.

Attach your Antenna A connector to a bidirectional 100
watt optoisolator.  Enclose Orion in a grounded screen
cage with transparent conductive window for the
optics.  Attach antenna to output side of
optoisolator.  Similar treatment is needed for the AC
power lines.

Operator and microphone sit inside the screen cage.
