There have been only a handful of hams on this list that dont care for the
Orion, and its a shame that possible future purchasers of the Orion are basing
their decision not to buy on the negative remarks of 4 or 5 hams.
After thinking about this comment that John wrote I am all the more aware that
it is to a great extent the truth. It seems as though over the last year that
the repeated posts of a few disgruntled purchasers seem to cloud the truth that
the majority of Orion owners are perfectly happy with their purchase. These
happy owners of the Orion do not post much and many do not post at all. I
personally know several that never post and are very pleased with the Orion.
If one would base their decison to purchase an Orion based on the comments
here on the reflector, they would porbably never ever purchase one. It is
interesting to hear about the problems of the unfortunate few who are unhappy,
but some of us may be getting getting a bit weary of hearing the repeated posts
of the same people who are unhappy with the Orion for whatever reason.
WE have a new year coming up and maybe things will change for the good. If you
are planning on purchasing a new Orion, talk to guys who like the Orion as well
as those who don't , and then make your decision based on numerous interviews,
and not a vocal unhappy minority who post here a lot. ......really a lot!
