I do not believe a 25 volt rating on the bridge would be adequate. I'd suggest at least 50 volts.

Jerry,

I have the schematics for both the 961 and the 962.

If I understood you correctly, you are specifically looking for a part
number for the bridge rectifier.

Well, the problem is, according to my two schematics, the 961 used a bridge
(D4) and the 962 uses discrete diodes (D7,D8,D9,D10). However the
description of how that part of the circuit works is exactly the same as for
the 961. Seems they just copied the text without checking its compliance
with the schematic. Also, there is no description of D7-D10 in the parts
list. I checked the 961's list and it doesn't say what the bridge is
either.

However this is not rocket science. Just use a general purpose bridge
capable of more than 25 amps and 25+ volts. Should be able to find one at
local Radio Shack.

I will be happy to email you the schematic of either or both. My 962
schematic is 660 KB and my 961 schematic is 1 MB. However, I don't think
either of these matches what you describe. Sounds to me like you have a
961.5 !

Let me know if I can help.

Darn!

This morning my Omni-VI+'s 962 power supply died. Blew its 5amp primary
fuse. I wasn't even transmitting when this happened... just listening.
Anyway, I isolated at least part of the problem, I hope the entire
problem, to a partially shorted bridge rectifier (two of the four diodes
show total shorts both ways). As I wrote, hopefully this is the entire
problem and not a secondary issue caused by s short in the regulators.
Anyway a good place to start.... Except:

I only have schematics to 960 and 961 Power Supplies. I have no idea
where my 962 manual went to :(
Yes, I know I can get a replacement manual from Ten-Tec and I will order
one next week, but for now does anyone have the schematic of the 962
that they can email me? If not can you at least look up in your manual
and send me any information shown there for this bridge rectifier? A
manufacture's part number would be a good starting point. Specs would be
nice... maybe I can buy a part locally. Kinda poor of this to go out
during vacation week :(

Fortunately I have my Paragon!

Holiday Best Wishes Continues!

Those where the specs taked right from the manufacture's site for the bridge I removed. Interestingly, the bridge in the 960 is a 35 amp version. I put the Radio Shack bridge in and all is working ok for now. I'll order a correct replacement from Ten-Tec. Thanks for the assist.
