Yes of course I adjusted the "threshold". I spent hours fiddling with 
all the agc adjustments. I even followed the detailed instructions 
someone seems to have dedicated their life to and posted on some web 
site. How come the Omni VI's agc works fine without all those 
adjustments anyway?
