Paul,

I have ordered an InRad roofing filter for my OMNI-VI+, and I have the same
filter arrangement as you in N-1 and N-2. I noticed a slight attenuation
with the 250 Hz filter, but I can't say I ever lost a CW signal. I found
it's important to align the 9 MHz 250 Hz or 500 Hz filter with the 6 MHz
and 500 or 250 Hz filters. You can do this with the PBT control. I use
MixW which gives you an audio spectrum display and you can align either the
9 MHz filter with the 6 MHz filters by turning the PBT control while
watching the display.

Having said that, I think it is an advantage to select the roofing filter
separate from the N-1 or N-2 filters. You mentioned a mod by Dave Bowker
to do this. Could you direct me to that mod?
