I don't quiet follow you. Are you saying if you left click the TX Loop 
button at the top, it goes into transmit or do you mean it allows you to go 
into transmit? If it's the former, it almost sounds like your PTT line is 
shorted somewhere and when you "close the loop" in software, it transmits.
I still think you should download the TT software and try it first. That 
will eliminate some confusion since it's rather basic.
Check the PTT voltage at the jack per the manual between Gnd and Ptt. You 
should have between 4 and 5 volts.
