This is the Canare cable I was referring to.  It has tinned copper braid
over a foil wrap.

I probably have 100' of it running around the shack --- several mics ->
preamps -> audio chain -> distribution amp/splitter -> six separate rigs'
mic or line inputs.  No ferrites, no RF on any radio.  And yes, my 75M
dipole is very close to the radio room.

I'd stay away from your average "musical instrument" cable, and probably
stay away from the cable sold by that local strip mall dealer (although I
have to admit I haven't tried it).
